PROTECTION OF METAL AND WOOD
Products for painting and protecting metal and wood surfaces
ANTI-CORROSION, PRIMER AND TOP COAT PAINTS Metals, just like wood can be damaged by external factors. They are subject to chemical corrosion due to oxygen reacting with iron, which results in iron oxide, i.e. rust, forming on their surfaces. This is a highly detrimental phenomena that causes damage and deterioration to metal structures. This is why proper and effective protection of metals against corrosion is so important. The simplest method of corrosion protection is cleaning the metal of rust and coating it with paint impenetrable to vapours and gases, so oxygen can not come in contact with iron. Additional protection can be provided by coating the surface first with the fast-drying ŚNIEŻKA UREKOR S primer that contains anti-corrosion pigments – so-called corrosion inhibitors. The following products can be used as a top coat, depending on the method of use of the metal surfaces: SUPERMAL OIL-PHTHALIC PAINT available in 21 popular colours for universal use (indoors and outdoors), SUPERMAL NITRO PAINT for painting items used indoors, produces a hard surface, fast-drying ŚNIEŻKA MAX ALKYD URETHANE PAINT– very efficient, fast-drying and good mechanical strength SUPERMAL ACRYLIC PAINT - water soluble paint for universal applications, produces coating resistant to yellowing ŚNIEŻKA CHLORINATED RUBBER PAINT – highly flexible paint with excellent resistance to atmospheric conditions
ŚNIEŻKA PRIMER FOR WOOD is a very useful product for both new and renovated surfaces. This is an oil-phthalic primer that makes the painted surface more uniform and improves top coat adhesion. Enables proper surface preparation prior to applying the top coat. Śnieżka FLOOR is the perfect solution to effectively protect wooden floors, also outdoors. This modified oil-phthalic paint assures excellent adhesion to the surface and is resistant to abrasion.
PRIMER PAINTS ŚNIEŻKA FOR ROOFS is a special paint for painting zinc-plated surfaces, despite the fact that such surfaces are highly-resistant to corrosion, it is often the case that they must be additionally protected with a paint coat, especially in case of long-term use. It should be stressed that zinc is a specific metal, the majority of paints produce poor adhesion to its surface, additionally, it causes accelerated decomposition of some paints, such as alkyd paints (oil-phthalic). ŚNIEŻKA FOR ROOFS is manufactured on a base of polyvinyl resin, which is resistant to reactions with zinc. Additionally due to the specific paint structure there is no need for a base coat. ŚNIEŻKA FOR RUST also assures good protection of metal surfaces against corrosion. This paint has the properties of a primer, base coat and top coat. In case of corroded surfaces, the paint can be applied directly onto the damaged areas, once the loose corroded layers are removed.
HEAT-RESISTANT PAINTS When there is a need for painting metal elements operating at temperatures exceeding 800C, such as radiators and central heating system elements, use ŚNIEŻKA HEATER acrylic paint. The paint is not only heat-resistant, but also does not turn yellow under the influence of high temperatures, which takes place in the case when traditional oil-phthalic paints are used. When painting elements exposed to temperatures exceeding 1000C, use HEAT-RESISTANT SILVER silicon paint for temperatures up to 5000C. When renovating old, flaking and damaged painted surfaces it is necessary to remove the old paint coat. This can be carried out mechanically (using a spatula or abrasive paper) or using SUPER DOM PAINT COAT REMOVER.
